We met Christabel during our 2021 campaign in Rivers State Nigeria while liaising with another organization. Her mother is a small-scale trader and her father is a taxi driver. She was initially reserved but over the last few months, she has come out of her shell and become confident and jovial.

This young girl from Ogoni has been through a great deal of loss and hardship but dares to smile and dream. She loves to sing and also has a keen interest in graphic design. Christabel is involved in a number of STEM-based extracurricular activities and is always looking for new ways to improve her knowledge.

Christabel’s dream is to become a Chemical Engineer. She has a passion for her country and is concerned about the illegal oil bunkering currently taking place across Nigeria, its effects on local communities and the environment. She hopes to one day make meaningful impact in the Nigerian oil & gas industry.
